Hey guys..
Here's a question. I'm editing on personalstudio 2.0 for video... I captured off of hi8 using premiere... and I just realized that PS doesn't let me spit out a copy to VHS... i don't have a firewire card or a DV cam.. so i'm wondering.. how would i get my movie onto VHS? I hope someone can help me... I really need to do this...
Thanks a lot..

If you can import into premiere OK, then you should be able to export too, provided you have an out on your capture card
cheers

I can export to video on premiere.. but when i tried loading my edited avi in premiere it just showed up as a black file.. the entire video file was black. I don't know.. maybe it's a codec issue? I'm not an expert at this stuff... Plus if the video file plays choppy in premiere cuz of my system speed... will it export to video like that? I gotta put more ram into my comp..
Any help would be greatly appreciated guys... since I suck at this..
thanks again..

Hey there.
Rather than rendering the entire movie as an AV file, load up the original project file (I know you didnt delete it. Did you?)and just print to video. You will only need to render transitions or effects and it should work fine.
If your capture card is unable to export video you could try exporting via your graphics card.
Render you movie then load up the file in your dvd software (if you have any) and just use the graphics card tv out (if you have one).
Good look.
Despin out.

Another thing you can do is by using a DVD player...
(I have tried this with some films off the net, and it worked for me...)
Basically, capture your files and edit.
Using premiere, export to a finished video file, then use a CDR/W drive to burn a VCD (video CD).
It depends on the DVD player, but mine can read VCD's.
Hook up the DVD player to a VHS recorder, and hey! Presto! Your film on VHS.
